The psychologist’s work at the Educational Rehabilitation Center Sv. Josip Radnik, Čitluk is focused on collecting data through an interview with the child and parents, observation of the child, observation of the parent-child relationship, assessment and psychological treatment of the user with appropriate psychodiagnostic tools, and continuous monitoring of the child’s development in various areas ( psychomotor, cognitive, socio-emotional and cognitive development) through a multidisciplinary approach. Accordingly, the necessary support is determined and individual psychological treatment is planned.

The work of psychologists in our center includes psychological empowerment of users, work on the prevention of risky behavior and behavior modification, help in overcoming various socio-emotional difficulties and cognitive difficulties (attention and memory, concentration, emotional self-regulation, learning problems) and work on adopting activities of daily life / independent living through workshops.

The psychologist also participates in counseling work and psychoeducation of parents of children with developmental disabilities in order to develop their parenting competences and skills in a high-quality manner and to find ways to deal with various life challenges. It also helps parents plan activities for their child and resolve conflict and other crisis situations.
